Making family time is important to me. How do you balance your children, relationship, and work life? (Guest Post by Ricki Lake, who can be found on Facebook or Twitter @RickiLakeShow)

It’s tricky because I do not have any children (unless you count my male roommates), I’m not in a relationship (unless you count my male roommates), and I work from home. I’m regularly broke and lacking sleep, and can often be found wandering around my house with a hairstyle my mother fondly refers to as “the rat’s nest” and drinking beer at noon.

Balance. I do not have balance.

But when I do need social activity and to spend time with my friends, I get dressed up, drink some beers, and blow off some steam on the dance floor. This is usually followed by a day of lying around in bed and reading anything I can get my hands on. What a life.

i balance children and work by having cats and a dog instead of children.
i clearly fail at balancing relationships and work, unless we’re talking friends. i kick ass at keeping my friends in my life. but apparently i’m a ‘difficult’ girl to date :P

meh. balance is in the eye of the beholder? ;D every now and again i escape to reset the balance. and the drinking and dancing thing helps as well ;)
